MPG Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing organisation, supporting a hybrid IT environment across multiple project sites and central systems.
This is a hands on infrastructure role covering on premise infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, networking and cloud connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and servers
• Set up and manage site IT environments, including connectivity, wireless networks and end user equipment
• Support the commissioning of IT infrastructure for new project sites
• Deploy and manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, networking and storage
• Support and troubleshoot hybrid on premise and Azure environments
• Manage Azure VPN connectivity
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across multiple locations
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and infrastructure issues
• Carry out patching, upgrades and lifecycle management
• Monitor system performance, availability and security
• Support backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
• Maintain IT asset records and technical documentation
• Work with internal teams, project managers, vendors and site personnel
Essential Skills & Experience
• 2+ years experience supporting on premise IT infrastructure
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure, including VMs, networking and storage
• Experience working within hybrid cloud environments
• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs
• Excellent infrastructure and connectivity troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Full clean driving licence
Desirable
• Azure networking experience, including VPN or ExpressRoute
• PowerShell, automation or Azure scripting experience
• Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices
This role involves travel to project sites across Ireland, so flexibility and the ability to travel are important.
